José Joaquín Acuña

Bachelor of Law graduated with Honors from the Faculty of Law of the University of Costa Rica. He is a specialist in Labor Law, graduated from the University of Salamanca, Spain, and holds a Master’s Degree in Labor Law and Social Security from the State Distance University of Costa Rica.
He has worked for our Firm since 2005 and became a partner in 2012.
He is a professor of Labor Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Costa Rica. He has served as a professor of Labor Law at the undergraduate level at the Latin University of Costa Rica and at the graduate level in the Master’s program in Labor Law and Social Security at the State Distance University.
He has been recognized by Chambers & Partners as a leading lawyer in Labor Law for Costa Rica since 2014 to the present.
He is a speaker at seminars and conferences on labor issues, both nationally and internationally. As an expert in labor matters, he is frequently consulted by various media outlets in Costa Rica.
Additionally, he serves as the head of the Immigration Department of BDS Asesores.
